Author: John Bevere

Summary:
There’s a question that troubles many believers: “Why am I not experiencing more joy, more hope, more satisfaction, more intimacy, more power, more everything in my Christian life--didn’t Jesus promise that?”

He did promise an abundant life, but too many people are trapped by the curse of “the ordinary.” They have accepted the wrong idea that following God means losing individuality, creativity, and a passion for achieving lofty goals.

Nothing could be further from the truth! John Bevere builds a convincing case, straight from Scripture, for a way of living marked by extraordinary experiences and accomplishments—the life God always intended for his children.

Here is a guide to understanding God’s incredible plans, and how to enjoy a life where he adds the “extra” to “ordinary.”

MY TAKE:
The name of this book is a great adjective to use when explaining what the book was like. It truly opened my eyes to a lot of issues regarding our Christian Walk. At one point the author said, "There's One Person above all others who desires an extraordinary life for you. He is a Father who delights, like any good father, in the achievements and happiness of His children. His name is God! And nothing will please Him more than seeing you reach your highest potential." Just reading that made me want to stand up and clap my hands!! God has an EXTRAORDINARY plan for each of us, but we have to be willing to accept it! His plan is revealed when we live extraordinarily! As the author says, "The truth is, God not only desires you to live extraordinarily but also has equipped you to do so." Isn't that refreshing to know? This book talks about the loved God has for us, pleasing God, Grace and Truth, Holiness, the Kingdom, the Flesh...you name it, this book seems to cover it! It was a great book...and I know that the "praises" at the beginning of books aren't always a great indication of the book, but these were. There were "praises" coming from Kurt Warner, Darlene Zschech, Chris Tomlin, Joyce Meyer, among many others...but there was also one from my former pastor in Phoenix, Tommy Barnett. The subtitle of this book is "The Life You're Meant to Live." I will be taking things from this book to hopefully help me be a better person for Christ. If you would like to live an extraordinary life for Christ, I would suggest this book!

Happy Reading!
