Weather Update

Update from the National Weather Service. We went from Winter Weather Watch to a Blizzard watch yesterday....now they upgraded it again to a Blizzard warning! Oh the joy!! :-)

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA/VALLEY HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM CDT SUNDAY. THE BLIZZARD WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW BY THIS EVENING OVER MOST OF THE REGION. THE SNOW MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. SNOWFALL OF 5 TO 10 INCHES IS FORECAST FOR THE AREA. THE SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS...MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. DO NOT TRAVEL. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...HAVE A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU. IF YOU GET STRANDED...STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE.
