Susan G. Komen, Race October 5th

HI THERE!!! Busy, busy, busy weekend!! Ready???

First of all, Friday night, my buds Deana and Emily and I, along with Deana's 10 month old Nehemiah, went out to Lone Star for a birthday dinner for Deana! We had a great time and of course, we ate WWWWAAAAAYYYYYY too much!! It wa great, much needed girlfriend time though!!

Saturday morning was the breast cancer survivors brunch. I went and picked up mom and Rhonda and we headed across the river to Harrah's Casino and ate a yummy brunch! They had great entertainment as well...and of course great company and gifts too!! It was packed. There were 900 survivors there, and I don't know how many guests were there with the survivors! Lots of people, but lots of fun!
Then we headed to my friend Tini's house to pick up Major and MaKenna because Jeff and Cam and Jake had hockey that morning. Yup...that's right...hockey has started. Ugh. I love the sport...the boys love the sport, but it is SOOOO time consuming. Jeff is coaching both of the boys' teams this year, so it is double the amount of time. Last year they were on the same team...that was sooo nice...this year, we aren't so lucky.

Anyway, Saturday evening we had MaKenna's 4th birthday party with her friends! That was a ton of fun too! Deana baked her a Pink Poodle cake with marshmellows as the fur...she LOOOVEEEESSSS Marshmellows! It was a hit! Deana, Rich, Hannah, Gabriel, Nehemiah, Emily, Troy, Bright, Olivia, Allyson, Tom, Sydney, Samantha, Aunt Dixie, Aunt Tini and Matt and all the Filleman boys...along with one of Cam's friends, Michael...were all here. Very fun! They jumped on the trampoline...played with ponies...played on the swing set....played with barbies. You named it, they did it...they were busy little boogers!

Then we watched Texas win....and Nebraska lose.
Sunday morning we got up at 6 am, to head down to the race in downtown Omaha. Mom and dad and Rhonda did the one mile. Myself, Dixie, Emily and Deana (along with Major and Nehemiah) did the 5K...which is 3.1 miles I found out!

The mile race started at 8 am, the 5K started at 8:30. It was a PERFECT day for the walk. We couldn't have asked for a better day. It truly was glorious! On our shirts we honored my mom, Suzanne Stutzman, and Jeff's aunt Teresa Filleman. It was so great knowing we were walking for a great cause.

If you look really close...all th way up that road is FULL of people! It was amazing! There were 17,000 people who participated in the walk this year! That surpassed their goal of 15,000!

Major had a hard time staying awake....

He finally found a comfortable spot....
But...when he is awake, he is ALWAYS a happy baby!!!!!
