Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

(Pictures above - My mom and dad, and my mom and her best friend Coralee who also died of breast cancer.)

You may know that one in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. What you may not know is that you can help these women and thousands of others in the fight against breast cancer. My mother lost her battle last January….but I will continue to walk and raise awareness in her memory.

On October 3, 2010 I will be participating in the Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure in Omaha with a great team of dedicated people. Join the fight by registering as part of our team, Mama’s Family, or by supporting our efforts with a pledge contribution. The money raised through the Race will fund vital education, screening and treatment programs for underserved women in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

We need your support! Every step counts! Again, if you don’t wish to be part of our team, the pledge e-mail is below. If you can’t pledge, I TOTALLY understand….but if you could commit to prayer for this cause, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks so much!!!! Just as a side note….my whole family…age 2 on up will be walking, so don’t be afraid to register your kiddos too! They make great team members…they are FULL of energy and enthusiasm!!

Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure®
October 3, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure on October 3, 2010 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Nebraska Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

Click here to visit my personal page and pledge your support.

Please join me in the fight by pledging in support of my participation in the Race or contributing generously to the Nebraska Race for the Cure. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved communities in Nebraska, as well as national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. Whatever you can give will help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against breast cancer! Every step counts!

Sincerely,

Tonya Filleman
